Basketball Recap: BigTyme Prep Academy Triumphs

There's no place like home for BigTyme Prep Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 70-69 photo finish over R.W. Goines Stem Academy on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against R.W. Goines Stem Academy back in January, they had to take a 74-66 loss.

Leading BigTyme Prep Academy to victory were Isaiah Stewart and Zion Ibekwe. Stewart went 8-for-13 en route to 21 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Ibekwe went 9-for-15 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Ibekwe's afternoon made it 17 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zvon King, who posted 12 points.

BigTyme Prep Academy pushed their record up to 18-12 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points over those games. As for R.W. Goines Stem Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

As of now, neither BigTyme Prep Academy nor R.W. Goines Stem Academy have any future games scheduled.
