Basketball Recap: Walton Comes Up Short

Walton and Freeport squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Walton had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 54-38 to the Freeport Bulldogs. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Leading Freeport to victory were Olyvia Snodgrass and Jasmine Miles. Snodgrass went 5 of 7 on her way to 15 points and seven boards, while Miles posted 14 points and eight rebounds. Miles is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Ludwig, who put up seven points and five boards.

Walton's loss dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Freeport, their record now sits at 9-17.

Walton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Freeport, they will head out on the road to challenge South Walton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in South Walton's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Freeport has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.
