Volleyball Recap: Alexander Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Alexander had already won eight in a row and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They came out on top against the Huntington Huntsmen by a score of 2-0. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Alexander easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-17.

Meena Juedes paced Alexander's offense, picking up 11 kills. Juedes got some help from Laney Douglas and her 21 assists. Juedes was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Alexander's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Huntington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.

Alexander wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Notre Dame on the 13th. As for Huntington, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Zane Trace on the 16th.
