Recap: Eastside Eagles vs. Laurens Raiders
Even though the Laurens Raiders scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Eastside Eagles still came out on top. Eastside walked away with a 63-55 win over Laurens. That's another feather in the cap for Eastside, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Eastside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ginny Anne Dumont, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Dumont also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Kaylan Hickman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Laurens' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Zoe Young, who scored 19 points, and Nyri Allen who scored 19 points. That was a full 34.5% of Laurens' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Eastside's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Laurens, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Eastside will head out on the road to take on Wade Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Wade Hampton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups. As for Laurens, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Greer at 6:00 p.m.
