Basketball Recap: Field Piles Up the Points Against Garfield

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Field). They blew past the Garfield G-Men, posting a 76-40 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Falcons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the G-Men are ranked 109th).

Garfield's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cade Rock, who posted six points along with eight boards and four blocks, and Aidan Hill, who earned 13 points and five blocks. The dominant performance gave Hill a new career-high in blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandyn Bogucki, who had seven points and five rebounds.

Field moved to 3-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Garfield, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Field will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Ravenna at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Garfield, they will head out to face off against Rootstown at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
