Softball Recap: Cooper City Takes a Loss

Cooper City was the 5-1 winner over Pembroke Pines Charter when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cooper City Cowboys lost 15-6 to the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars on Thursday. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jordyn Samson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Aileen Laffita was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Cooper City's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Cooper City will be playing at home against Western at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Western's pitching crew has only allowed 0.8 runs per game this season, so Cooper City's hitters will have their work cut out for them. We've got a battle between Jaguars coming up. Pembroke Pines Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
