Baseball Recap: Everett Alvarez Comes Up Short

Everett Alvarez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gilroy Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 11-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2016.

Everett Alvarez saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Victoriano, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Everett Alvarez's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Gilroy, they moved to 8-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Everett Alvarez will square off against Alisal at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gilroy, they will challenge Willow Glen at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
