Basketball Game Preview: La Porte Bulldogs vs. Friendswood Mustangs

The La Porte Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Friendswood Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Porte is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.6 points per game this season.

La Porte is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Iowa Colony just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to the Pioneers.

La Porte's loss came about despite a quality game from Trent Callies, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 20 points. Cody Miller was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Friendswood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Iowa Colony by a score of 66-59 on Friday.

Friendswood pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for La Porte, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 17-8.

La Porte came up short against Friendswood in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 69-64. Can La Porte avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
