Norrix came tearing into Monday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Holt Rams. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-4 on Monday.

Corey Stanfill tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jackson Bennett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Grayson Borick also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Norrix pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Holt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.

Coming up, Norrix will head out on the road to square off against Portage Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holt, they will be playing at home against Marshall at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redhawks have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
