Basketball Recap: Lake Zurich Comes Up Short

Lake Zurich was the 49-48 winner over Warren Township when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Lake Zurich Bears lost 61-39 to the Warren Township Blue Devils on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 38th).

Lake Zurich's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Warren Township, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Looking ahead, Lake Zurich will head out to square off against Stevenson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stevenson will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Lake Zurich surely won't give up without a fight. As for Warren Township, they will face off against Libertyville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warren Township knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Libertyville likes a good challenge.
