Preview: Rising Sun Shiners vs. Milan Indians

Rising Sun and Milan are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Rising Sun Shiners will head out on the road to face off against the Milan Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Rising Sun focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Tuesday.

Last Tuesday, Rising Sun came up short against Oldenburg Academy and fell 49-39. While losing is never fun, Rising Sun can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Oldenburg Academy is ranked 133rd).

Rising Sun's defeat came about despite a quality game from Alyssa Simpson, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The contest was Simpson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Peelman, who scored seven points along with four steals.

Meanwhile, Milan took a serious blow against Lawrenceburg on Tuesday, falling 57-19. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Milan has scored all season.

This is the second loss in a row for Rising Sun and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Milan, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Rising Sun strolled past Milan in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 45-29. Does Rising Sun have another victory up their sleeve, or will Milan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
