Baseball Recap: Holly Springs Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Holly Springs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Green Level Gators 4-3. The Golden Hawks haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Noah Rhoades made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Rhoades wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brennan McKenna, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. That's the most hits McKenna has posted since back in March.

Holly Springs pushed their record up to 15-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Green Level, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 15 of their last 16 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.

Holly Springs will square off against Cary at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Green Level does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
