Brookland-Cayce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Aiken Thoroughbreds. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-26 back in December of 2024.
Brookland-Cayce's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dalacia Rouse, who posted nine points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Maci Cobb, who earned eight points.
Even though they lost, Brookland-Cayce smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Aiken only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
South Aiken's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tekinia Dixon led the charge by putting up six points and five steals.
