Baseball Recap: Union Takes a Loss

Union lost against Vinton-Shellsburg back in June of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Knights took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Union now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Vinton-Shellsburg, they moved to 4-17 with that win, which also ended their 13-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union will face off against Gladbrook-Reinbeck on Tuesday. As for Vinton-Shellsburg, they will take on Center Point-Urbana at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Stormin' Pointers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.76 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
