Baseball Recap: Waldron Gets the Win

Waldron posted their closest victory since April 30, 2024 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Edinburgh Lancers 3-1. The Mohawks haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Jordan Bennett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has become a key player for Waldron: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 4-11 otherwise.

Waldron's record now sits at 7-12. As for Edinburgh, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-14.

Looking ahead, Edinburgh will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Oldenburg Academy at 5:30 p.m. Waldron will be paying especially close attention to the Lancers' game: after the Lancers face off against the Twisters, they'll take on Waldron again at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
