Baseball Recap: Port Huron Comes Up Short

Port Huron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marine City Mariners. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Hawks of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Port Huron's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Marine City, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

When Port Huron and Marine City next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Red Hawks will square off against Yale and their three-game winning streak at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Marine City will try to stop Utica's three-game winning streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mariners 1.8, the Chieftains 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
