Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wagner). They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Veterans Memorial Patriots on Friday. The Thunderbirds haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Adrian Flores, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Mark Riojas also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Wagner's victory bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Veterans Memorial, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-17.

Wagner has already played their next game, a 4-1 win against Smithson Valley on the 8th. As for Veterans Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 7-1 defeat against Tivy on the 8th.
