Statesville Christian found their leader in sophomore Addison Layne, who posted six points along with 11 boards and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for Layne. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Layne, who put up six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian Academy didn't have too much trouble with Sheets Memorial Christian on Thursday as they won 37-18.

Statesville Christian pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.0 points per game. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
