Football Recap: St. Paul Skates Past Covenant Christian with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Paul). They breezed past the Covenant Christian Cougars to the tune of 56-28 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Cardinals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Covenant Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brady McDaniel, who picked up 41 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 48 yards. He is becoming a predictor of Covenant Christian's success: when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Coltyn Watson was another key player, throwing for 92 yards and three TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes.

St. Paul is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.3 points over those games. As for Covenant Christian, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-3.
