Softball Game Preview: Dundee Vikings vs. Clinton Redwolves

The Dundee Vikings will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Clinton Redwolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Dundee had just enough and edged out Brighton 14-13.

The team relied heavily on Kiernan Brown, who went 4-for-6 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Abby Marek was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Clinton made easy work of Blissfield on Friday and carried off a 17-1 victory.

Taryn Hernandez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Hernandez was even better at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Clinton got a massive performance out of Kylinn Long, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Calli Kruger, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI.

Clinton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blissfield only posted an OBP of .429.
