Softball Game Preview: Robertsdale Golden Bears vs. Fairhope Pirates

Robertsdale hasn't had much luck against Fairhope recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Golden Bears are taking a road trip to square off against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. The match will give Robertsdale their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Robertsdale's offense. They lost 7-0 to Baker on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Fairhope came tearing into Saturday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Toros.

Lily Guimarin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Briley Bolden, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 13 games.

Robertsdale's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Fairhope, their victory bumped their record up to 21-8.

Robertsdale might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Fairhope when the teams last played back in February. Can the Golden Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
