South Lakes is 8-1 against Oakton since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Seahawks will challenge the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Things were looking good for South Lakes after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Herndon by a score of 23-20.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Nick Picarelli, who picked up 214 receiving yards and one TD. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards. Christian Wyatt was another key signal caller, throwing for 316 yards and one touchdown while picking up 15.0 yards per attempt.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 35-7, which was the final score in Oakton's tilt against Langley on Friday. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
South Lakes will have to contain Jack Martin as he made an impact in Oakton's last game. He threw for 158 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 71 yards on only nine carries.
South Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Oakton, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. South Lakes has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 163.6 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Oakton, though, as they've been averaging only 69.8 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
South Lakes and Oakton were almost perfectly matched up when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but South Lakes suffered an agonizing 48-47 defeat. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Martin, who threw for 288 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 63 yards on only six carries. Now that the Seahawks know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
