Heimes Made His Presence Known in Hartington-Newcastle's 56-14 Win

Starting off the list is Hartington-Newcastle's Cole Heimes, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Heimes rushed for 107 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only five passes. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making 18 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass.

For the season, Heimes has thrown 8 touchdowns (and and only 1 picks) while averaging 118.8 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 10.5 passing yards per game.

Cole Bensen Makes It Two for Hartington-Newcastle

The second Hartington-Newcastle player making an appearance here is Cole Bensen, and for good reason. He rushed for -8 yards.

While Cash Wickersham delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Niobrara/Verdigre. Wickersham was dynamite, throwing for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Cash Sinclair Turns in Season-Best Performance

Cash Sinclair produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Boyd County to the win on Friday. Sinclair wasn't messing around, picking up a sack and making 15 total tackles. The contest was his fourth straight with seven or more total tackles dating back to last season.

This season, Sinclair has averaged 8.2 total tackles per game and for the season has 2 sacks.
