Basketball Game Preview: Millard South Patriots vs. Northwest Wolves

The Millard South Patriots will head out to take on the Northwest Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Millard South didn't have too much trouble with Omaha Westside as they won 46-32.

Millard South's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Aubrey Carder, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points, and Abbi Durow, who went 6 of 9 en route to 14 points. Ellie Leuschen also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Millard South was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha Westside only racked up six assists.

Meanwhile, Northwest won against Southeast Polk on Tuesday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Northwest came out on top against Waukee by a score of 53-44. Given the Wolves 's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Warriors are ranked 48th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northwest has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Millard South, their record now sits at 10-6.
