Soccer Game Preview: Freedom vs. Battlefield

Freedom is 1-6 against Battlefield since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Freedom has given up an average of 2.8 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Freedom came up short against Gainesville on Friday, falling 6-3.

Meanwhile, Battlefield kept a clean sheet against Patriot on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pioneers, sneaking past 1-0. The win continues a trend for Battlefield in their matchups with Patriot: they've now won eight in a row.

Battlefield's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five contests. As for Freedom, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Freedom couldn't quite get it done against Battlefield in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
