Volleyball Recap: Saint Thomas Aquinas Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Saint Thomas Aquinas had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Crivitz Wolverines on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cavaliers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-7, 25-14.

Crivitz can attribute much of their success to Hattie Frievalt, who had 17 assists and seven digs. That's the most assists Frievalt has posted since back in October of 2024.

Crivitz pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Saint Thomas Aquinas will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Niagara at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Crivitz, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Lena on the 11th.
