Baseball Recap: Steinert Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hopewell Valley Central, Steinert was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Colts Neck Cougars a 5-0 shutout. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 4-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Steinert has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Colts Neck, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Steinert will take on Northern Burlington at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Colts Neck, they will host Marlboro on Saturday.
