Basketball Recap: Draper APA Takes a Loss

Draper APA suffered their biggest defeat since November 17, 2023 on Wednesday. They were beaten by the American Leadership Academy Eagles 71-43. Draper APA hasn't had much luck with American Leadership Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carter Vijayaraghavan, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Burris, who put up 12 points.

American Leadership Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malakai Mack, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 18 points and five steals. Mack is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kannon Huntsman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Draper APA's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for American Leadership Academy, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-4.

Draper APA wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-54 victory against Grand County on the 9th. As for American Leadership Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-44 win against Maeser Prep Academy on the 10th.
