Basketball Recap: Fort Jennings Takes a Loss

Fort Jennings was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Allen East Mustangs, falling 71-48. While losing is never fun, the Musketeers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while the Mustangs are ranked 105th).

Rilynn Jones was her usual excellent self, going 11 for 24 on her way to 30 points in addition to eight boards and eight steals for Allen East. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Lehman, who posted 19 points and five steals.

Fort Jennings' defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Allen East, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Fort Jennings will take on Ayersville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Allen East, they will face off against Bluffton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bluffton has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 175 points over their last three contests.
