Baseball Recap: Tates Creek Commodores vs. Henry Clay Blue Devils
Tates Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Henry Clay Blue Devils. That's two games in a row now that the Commodores have lost by just one run.
Finley Insko and Austin McGaughey stepped up to the plate in a big way. Insko went 2-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI, while McGaughey scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, McGaughey posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Landon Brewster also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Tates Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Henry Clay, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Coming up, Tates Creek is taking a road trip to face off against Corbin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Henry Clay, they will venture away from home to take on Great Crossing at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
