It's playoff time, and Edison had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Downtown Doral Dolphins, posting a 46-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Red Raiders, who have now won nine games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Rakyia Louis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 274 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75% of her passes. Edison's leading receiver Malayisa David was Louis' top target yet again, picking up 81 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Edison didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tykwondra Ponder and Jennifer Burton. Burton has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last six times she's played. Ponder got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The victory made it two in a row for Edison and bumps their season record up to 13-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 points in those games. As for Downtown Doral, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
Edison wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 24-18 victory against Sports Leadership & Management on the 17th. Downtown Doral does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
