Softball Recap: Apex Friendship Takes a Loss

Apex Friendship fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Heritage on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 12-11. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Cheyenne Christman led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Catt Poneleit, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Apex Friendship lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Apex Friendship's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2. As for Heritage, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Apex Friendship didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-3 win against Green Hope on the 18th. As for Heritage, they have also already played their next game, an 11-10 victory against Millbrook on the 18th.
