Softball Recap: West Noble Comes Up Short

West Noble extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 2-8 in the process. They lost 21-10 to the Garrett Railroaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Railroaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-6 on Saturday.

As for Garrett, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games.

For Garrett's part, Peyton Grindstaff was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, five runs, and three doubles. With that strong performance, Grindstaff is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Sarah DePew was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Noble will host Westview at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Garrett, they will square off against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Railroaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
