Baseball Recap: Linden Takes a Loss

After flying high against North Bergen on Monday, Linden came back down to earth. The Tigers lost 7-0 to the South Hunterdon Eagles on Tuesday.

Linden saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Garcia is becoming a predictor of the Tigers' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 2-13 when he doesn't).

Linden's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for South Hunterdon, their record now sits at 10-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linden will host Metuchen at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Hunterdon, they will challenge Palmyra at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
