Baseball Recap: Scotts Hill Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Scotts Hill challenged Hardin County on Thursday. The Lions walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Tigers. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Benjamin Yarbro looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Silas Howard was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Scotts Hill: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-14-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Beecham, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Scotts Hill's record now sits at 9-14-1. As for Hardin County, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-6.

Coming up, Scotts Hill will host Jackson Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Lions have won three straight at home, while the Eagles won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Hardin County, they will head out to face off against Loretto at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
