Baseball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 15-5 to the Peyton Panthers.

Mitchell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keegan Spofford, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Spofford also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another was Damontae Simpson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Peyton, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Looking ahead, Mitchell will face off against Arvada at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Peyton, they will take on Manitou Springs at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
