Football Game Preview: De Anza Dons vs. Salesian College Preparatory Pride

The De Anza Dons will head out to face off against the Salesian College Preparatory Pride at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Salesian College Preparatory took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on De Anza, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, De Anza earned a 27-14 victory over Saint Mary's. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dons.

Paul Yumang had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 104 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 104 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Another reason for the win was De Anza's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Damani Garrison refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

Meanwhile, Salesian College Preparatory suffered their biggest loss since October 19, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against El Cerrito, falling 40-14. The Pride have struggled against the Gauchos recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Having lost for the first time this season, Salesian College Preparatory fell to 6-1. As for De Anza, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

De Anza took a serious blow against Salesian College Preparatory in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 62-14. Can the Dons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
