Franklin and Attleboro are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but not for long. The Panthers will host the Bombardiers at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a ten-game winning streak alive.
Franklin had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Taunton on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win.
The final score came out to 25-15, 25-11, 25-19.
Franklin can attribute much of their success to Emma Cunningham, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces Cunningham has posted since back in September. Abby Clark also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
They weren't the only good servers: Franklin was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces every time they've taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Attleboro got the win against Milford on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.
The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-12, 25-19.
Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Attleboro, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Franklin has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 11.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Attleboro struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
