Basketball Recap: Geneva Classical Academy Knights vs. Oasis Christian Lions
There's no place like home for the Geneva Classical Academy Knights, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 41-28 victory over Oasis Christian on Thursday. The team accrued 29 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
Giselle Katzmann continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 steals. Katzmann is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sophie Dalen, who scored nine points along with five assists and three steals.
Oasis Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Niyhana Tolbert, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and seven steals, and Karsyn Roberts who scored eight points along with six steals. Tolbert is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.
Geneva Classical Academy pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Oasis Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-17.
