Football Recap: Jupiter Christian Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Jupiter Christian after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Benjamin who ended up claiming the real prize. The Eagles fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 30-27. The loss came about despite the Eagles having been up 21 in the second quarter.

Benjamin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Charlie Smith out in front who threw for 164 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 45 yards and one score. That's the most passing yards Smith has posted since back in September of 2024. Terrion Ivy-Akins was another key rusher, rushing for 115 yards and one TD.

Jupiter Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jupiter Christian will head out to face off against Oxbridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Benjamin, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
