Baseball Recap: Jeffersonville Takes a Loss

Jeffersonville fell victim to Bloomington South and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2018.

Carter Williams was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit.

This is the second loss in a row for Jeffersonville and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Bloomington South, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Coming up, Jeffersonville will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against New Albany at 7:00 p.m. As for Bloomington South, they will head out on the road to face off against Hamilton Southeastern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Royals' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
