Recap: Heritage Academy Heroes vs. East Valley Athletes for Christ Eagles
After a string of four wins, the Heritage Academy Heroes's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Valley Athletes for Christ. Heritage Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East Valley Athletes for Christ apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
East Valley Athletes for Christ's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landen Marker led the charge by scoring 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb McAvoy, who scored 11 points.
Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for East Valley Athletes for Christ, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on BASIS - Scottsdale at 6:30 p.m. on December 18th. East Valley Athletes for Christ is on the road again on Thursday and play against AZ Compass Prep at 5:30 p.m. on December 7th. AZ Compass Prep is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
