San Diego Jewish Academy's Tomer Baltinester rumbled for the longest rushing play in Pacific this season in his game against Julian last week. Baltinester scampered for 85 yards on the play and finished with 145 on the day as his team bested the Eagles.
San Diego Jewish Academy moved up to 999 from 1,040 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Joseph Gurfinkiel's team climbed the ranks as a result of beating Julian 27-0.
Josiah Rubia was a key player and the best on defense this week as Maranatha Christian beat Lutheran. The 5-foot-10 senior grabbed 2 sacks.
Jordan Battaglia and Baltinester gave the Lions a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Battaglia threw for 43 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Baltinester ran for 145 yards. Jake Posnock also contributed to the rushing game with 21 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Army-Navy's Chris Salisbury and Tim Mack have proven to be a lethal combination. Salisbury has thrown for 881 yards this season, while Mack has 9 catches for 195 yards. Calvin Christian's Danny Lovato leads the league in rushing yards with 389.
An important game coming up in Pacific this week will be when San Diego Jewish Academy takes on the Warriors. The Lions are in first place, while Army-Navy is in fourth place.
The Eagles and the Knights played the closest game in the league this week, with the Eagles eventually emerging with a 18-16 victory. Christian Cortes threw for 160 yards in the win.
