Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Steele Canyon

Steele Canyon let Granite Hills stack five runs on them in the fifth inning on Friday but luckily Steele Canyon prevailed anyway. The Cougars won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 7-6. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Hailey Trujillo, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Marina Gonzalez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.

The victory (which was Steele Canyon's fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-11-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Granite Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16-1 record this season.

Steele Canyon will be playing in front of their home fans against Ramona at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Granite Hills, they will head out on the road to face off against West Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
