Softball Game Preview: Alta Hawks vs. West Panthers

Alta hasn't had much luck against West recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Hawks will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. Alta has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Alta was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against East on Thursday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Leopards with a sharp 20-11 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Addyson Brownell was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brielle Watson, who went 3-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Alta lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when West faced off against Hurricane on Friday. The Panthers came up short against the Tigers, falling 24-8. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Alta, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
