Softball Recap: Oak Hill Takes a Loss

If Oak Hill was riding high fresh off their 14-1 takedown of Richwood last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Oak Hill Red Devils fell just short of the Princeton Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 17-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Sadie Branch was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Emery, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Oak Hill's loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Princeton, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Hill will venture away from home to challenge Capital at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Princeton, they are taking a road trip to square off against Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give Independence their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
