Soccer Game Preview: Paso Robles vs. Righetti

The Paso Robles Bearcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Righetti Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Paso Robles is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Pioneer Valley on Friday. Paso Robles fell just short of Pioneer Valley by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Panthers are ranked 137th).

Meanwhile, Righetti hasn't lost a match since December 7, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They came out on top against Santa Maria by a score of 5-3. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Their offense was hitting Santa Maria from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Righetti is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-1-4 record this season. As for Paso Robles, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Everything went Paso Robles' way against Righetti in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Paso Robles made off with a 5-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Paso Robles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
