Softball Recap: Valley Center Takes a Loss

Valley Center managed to slip by San Dieguito Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Valley Center lost 14-2 to San Dieguito Academy on Wednesday. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Lillian Lopez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

Valley Center is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8. As for San Dieguito Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Center will challenge Mt. Carmel at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give Valley Center their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for San Dieguito Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Torrey Pines at 4:00 p.m. on April 8.
