Baseball Recap: Raytown Comes Up Short

Raytown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 8-3 to the Raytown South Cardinals. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Raytown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Dunn, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Dunn is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Raytown's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Raytown South, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Raytown will venture away from home to take on Lee's Summit West at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Raytown South, they will face off against Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
