Wilcox County scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Treutlen Vikings. The Patriots were probably out for revenge after losing 70-68 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Wilcox County lost, don't look at Jackson Smith. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards. Smith continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Malachi Murphy also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steals of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Wilcox County and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Treutlen, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Wilcox County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-59 defeat against Dodge County on the 11th. Treutlen has also already played their next contest, an 86-65 victory against Telfair County on the 10th.
